I am looking far ahead my arrival in Asturias.
The crossing of Cantabria is difficult morally because there are 90% of the way which are paved roads.
So I find simple ways to smile:
The medieval village of Santillana del Mar is splendid:
I even meet a fanfare that parodies the blues brothers on the air of "on the saints go marching":
I feel July's month, tere are so many pilgrims, which allows me to walk accompanied by moment

The city of San Vincente de la Barquera and its surroundings:
The day of my arrival the inhabitants celebrate the Carmen virgin, protector of the sailors. In the evening before the concert which will lfinich after 6 a.m, there is a queue of 30 meters to have a plate of prawns:

I leave the ocean and start my descent to the south to join the Camino Francés and Santiago.
I choose the option of the primitive way, which should allow me to cross mountains.
I sleep at the monastery of San Salvador de Valdedios, a small green and peaceful valley.

After few villages and some kilometeres, I am in Espina, a village of 512 inhabitants, in a very welcoming hostel El Texu.
With an open horizon and the promise a little wilder nature for the days to come.
